In Zambia, most soils are naturally acidic and agricultural fields may become more acidic over time due to manure or nitrogen fertilizer application. Soil acidity is among the important environmental factors that can influence plant growth and seriously limit crop production.
SIMMER manufactures high quality Calcitic and Dolomitic agricultural lime branded as AGROLIME. SIMMER Dolomitic AGROLIME has a high content of Dolomite (CaMg(CO3)2) which has both calcium and magnesium. SIMMER Calcitic AGROLIME consists of mainly of Calcite (CaCO3) and has calcium and little magnesium.
SIMMER AGROLIME is manufactured from highly reactive raw materials which results in a good Neutralising Value. The fineness of SIMMER AGROLIME ensures a good speed of reaction with soil to neutralize acidity within a period of one month and the effect of the lime can last up to three years.
SIMMER AGROLIME is classified as First Grade (Grade A) according to analysis and classification by the Zambia Agricultural Research Institute (ZARI).
The STOCKFEED brand of lime is produced by crushing/grinding Calcitic limestone. Stockfeed lime is a relatively inexpensive source of calcium used in livestock, horse and poultry diets. The minimum nutrient content of the stock feed lime is 37% calcium (92.0% CaCO3).
The limestone is pulverised in order to produce SIMMER STOCKFEED POWDER or crushed and subjected to a series of sieving operations in order to obtain STOCKFEED GRIT.
CALSIM is the brand name for pulverised white Calcitic Limestone (CaCO3) or Dolomitic Limestone (CaMg(CO3)) for filler applications. In order to meet specific industrial applications SIMMER produces CALSIM with varying fineness from 200, 300,400,500 & 1000 mesh. Due to its white colour and high brightness CALSIM is mainly used in the paint industry as paint filler/extender where it can represent as much 30% of the weight of paint.
CALSIM can also be used as filler in other products such as paper, plastic and tile adhesives.
TALCSIM is a brand name for a pulverised Talcum Powder produce by SIMMER.Talc is a clay mineral, composed of hydrated magnesium silicate with the chemical formula Mg3Si4O10 (OH) 2. Talc in Rock form and after crushing & milling it come powdered form.
This mineral is used as a thickening agent and lubricant; is an ingredient in ceramics, paint, and soap – Detergent manufacturing Industries. Colour of products come white to off-white. Fineness is 600 to 800 mesh.
